I'm Jason, a Minnesota native who found a true passion for astrophotography amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Australia. After dedicating 27 years to the US Marine Corps, I found solace and inspiration in astrophotography. The night sky became my canvas, and I have found immense joy in capturing its beauty.

I am fortunate and humbled to have been recognized as the winner of the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year in the Astrophotography category for two consecutive years in 2022 & 2023. With 6 years of experience in astrophotography and editing night images, a bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Photography Studies College, as well as over 20 years of teaching experience in the military, I am well-equipped to guide others in capturing their own stunning night sky images.

I founded PDog Astrophography with a mission to make astrophotography accessible to everyone, regardless of experience level. By simplifying the learning process, the aim is to connect individuals through the shared awe and wonder of nature at its grandest scale. My goal is to build a community to inspire a sense of connection, foster knowledge exchange, and facilitate lifelong appreciation for the beauty of the universe.
